- Why did you choose to pursue the career of engineering?
EC. Honestly, I did not decided consciously to pursue this career. Since I was a kid, I was really passionate about studying new things. During high school I focused on scientific subjects and when it was time to decide what faculty to choose, I went for Bioengineering. This faculty looked like a good combination of biology and maths, two subjects I really liked. To be fair, at that point, I had never thought about becoming an engineer and I did not know what it really meant. Studying in the university, I learned about this figure and I became really passionate about computer engineering. Thus, I followed my studies in this field and I am really happy today to have started this path.
2. What obstacles did you have to overcome to achieve your dream?
EC. I worked hard during all my studies and thanks to that I did not have particular problems with that. For though exams, I studied in group with some friends and sharing the mental tiredness all together helped a lot .
3. What is the message you would like to give to young girls for following a career in science and engineering?
EC. It’s an incredible career, that gives you the opportunity to learn about the real world and make you achieve critical thinking. This is fundamental for working well as an engineer but also in understanding every day life. Be curious, be passionate about what you study and do networking in the engineering community.
