  1. Why did you choose to pursue the career of engineering?

CC: I choose a career in engineering because I want to challenge myself and know my abilities. I majored in electronic engineer when I was in university, and I noticed that I can learn quickly and had a better academic performance than other students. During my university, there were only seven girls in the class of fifty people, and the average achievements of the girls are better than the boys. I want to learn more and improve myself in engineering, so why not.

2. What obstacles did you have to overcome to achieve your dream?

CC: The question is depended on the definition of my dream. I have lots of dreams, one is to own my career(e.g., academic, engineer, manager). During my school period, the people I met are nice and helpful, and I really appreciate their support and assistance. I think everyone has their own obstacles have to overcome when achieving their dream, like a said: “if you want to cross the desert, you have to give up coffee and cola”. For example, if I want to have a child at the ideal age in the future, I must give up something, such as time for taking care of children or time for working. Life is filled with obstacles, and we will find a balanced way to live.

3. What is the message you would like to give to young girls for following a career in science and engineering?

CC: In the past, under the gender stereotype, women cannot own their careers, especially married women. However, the gender stereotype has changed with the times, and it will take time to change and improve society. We have to keep the faith and try to maximize the benefits under the limited resource. The opinions from the world for the women are too much, just ignore those nonsense people and follow your own mind to do what you want to do. Be kind, but do not let people abuse you.
